The concrete patio at the triangle, Bay Esplanade and Narcissus, is finished. The city will meet with us to work on a landscaping plan.

Jerry Murphy, Ellie Holmes, and Lisa Cowley will meet as the Nominating Committee for next year’s board members. At the January meeting the board elects officers.

The Beach Funfest, (also known as the Novemberfest,) a joint effort by the Chapel by the Sea and the City of Clearwater takes place Saturday, November 5, 2 – 5 p.m. This year Hogfish Grill will serve several of their best dishes. Rita’s Water Ice, face painting, several bands, soft drink/water booth, children’s activities are sure to please all. The board approved not to exceed $400. for the CBA to supply ice and water. CBA will also man a membership booth.

Jay Keyes, President, recognized John Doran, council member in the room. John was asked about the unsightly area along Ft. Harrison across from the old Ft. Harrison Hotel. The city asked the owners to clean up.

The short-term rental hearing is scheduled for January 17.

The Christmas Party/Annual Meeting is to be held Saturday, December 10, 6 – 9 p.m. Dave Ramos volunteered to send out cards informing the members of the time and place (Clearwater Beach Recreation Center). The Board approved obtaining a suite at Bright House for the Q fest, January 7, a day of great bands every hour, music from past decades, 3 – 10 p.m. The cost per person is $50.00; however, the CBA will cover half of the cost.

Jay sent a letter to the City asking for inclusion in the 2005-2006 Budget the Beach Library. We want the library to stay and the suggestion has been made to combine a new Fire House and New Library. John Doran said ‘the combo would not happen.’ Jay suggested the city look at the property owned by the Taylor family, metered parking lot as you approach the beach, at East Shore.

The Post Office lease expires in 2009. Speculation is that a high and dry, 1500 space parking garage, retail space is to be built on Marina property.
