Meeting Minutes for 9/5/2006:

The board met following the holiday weekend. Board members present were: Jay Keyes, Jerry Murphy, Rosemarie Bonnington, Ron Delp, Dave Ramos, Bette Failor, Lisa Cowley, Candy Zimmerman, Dave MacNamee, Lois Davis and Kim Porte.

Board members not present were: Mara Basic, Ray Massieu, Anne Garris, and Ellie Holmes.

Guest present were Mr. Bonnington, and Ross Concklin

The meeting was called to order. The July minutes were approved. The treasure’s report was submitted and approved by the board. In July there was no income and no expenses.

There was a discussion on short term rentals. Lois asked if a trial date had been set. It was explained that the number of days necessary for the trial was still being debated and until they know how long the trial will likely take they cannot set a date. Ron Delp and Dave Ramos will continue to visit Bob Hall to voice our concerns regarding this important issue.

Board members are still frustrated with the lack of police interest in illegal parking along Eldorado St. Complaints are ignored or lost. It was suggested that e-mail follow the phone calls with carbon copies sent to the Mayor and the Chief of Police.

Jay updated us with the progress of the upcoming golf tournament to be held on Monday, October 30, 2006. He states that it is going very well with commitments for great prizes and donations, but we still need to sell more signs and enroll more golfers.

Shepherds will be donating the box lunches for all the golfers. Tedesco is a major contributor supplying items for the silent auction, a Ford Mustang will be given for a hole in one and a Segway and a three night-two day stay in Ft. Lauderdale are also some of the prizes. The embroidered t-shirts that we were going to pay $9.00 for are now also being donated.

Thanks to all who are working so hard on this huge project. More help is always welcome so Jay encourages us to attend as many of the meetings as we can. The next meeting will be held Thursday, September 14th at the sailing club at 5 p.m.

Committee reports were brief this month.

Communication – Ron Delp is keeping our website updated.

Membership – States they will have a paper roster completed by our next meeting.

Old Business – Jay read the letter he wrote in support of the Moratorium.

New Business - Jennifer Bass of “Clearwater Neighborhood Services” will be guest speaker at our October meeting. The business portion of the evening will begin at 6 p.m. and she will speak at 7 p.m.

Special Events – We spoke of the possibility of a winter party in January. Lisa will look into possible venues for this event.

The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7 p.m.

Respectfully,
Kim Porte
