Board Members absent: Ron Delp, David MacNamee, Lisa Cowley

CBA Members present: Doug Bonnington, and new members – Jim and Darlene Bodenger

Paul Bertels, Traffic Operations Manager, addressed the board regarding the traffic signal at Mandalay Avenue and Bay Esplanade. Three proposals were presented to improve the flow of north bound traffic. The board voiced its approval of option one which included a left turn lane, a center straight lane, and right turn only lane. Mr. Bertels told us this would most likely be completed before our next board meeting as this option called for lane changes only.

Guests were introduced – Welcome to the Bodengers of Devon Drive.

February Minutes were approved

Treasurers Report – Dave Ramos – 49 tickets sold for a very successful cruise on the Show Queen. We guaranteed 50 so the cost to the association was only $25.

Beautification Committee – Presented by Jerry Murphy – Plans being drawn for planting of Indian Hawthorn at Acacia Circle. Also David Ramos stated that the plants for the triangle will be purchased through Murfree as they are able to get a better price than we can.

Government Affairs – Jerry Murphy – Old news, we are awaiting a trial date for Short Term Rental issue. Anne Garris suggested we send two homeowners to each council meeting to voice their citizen concerns. They should come equipped with dates and details to document disturbances that have occurred due to the short term rentals.

Communications – Ads will be placed the 2 weeks prior to the neighborhood garage sale and picnic at the Triangle on April 1st. An ad will also run in the St. Pete Times the day before and the day of the event.

Special Events – Plans are in the works for the April 1st event at the Triangle. We will also send e-mails to as many members as possible.

Membership – Jerry Murphy and Dave Ramos- Post cards are working well.

Residential – Ray Massieu- Distributed blue Community Response Team booklets. They are great for phone numbers and information on Code Enforcement. He also presented information on upcoming meetings for Hurricane Preparedness for Your Neighborhood and Its Citizens. It will be held at the Library – no exact date/time at this time - he will keep us posted.

Ray will also look into inviting the Neighborhood Watch to one of our meetings to update us on the status of block captains and other pertinent details.

Old Business – Roster Publication – Ongoing - Newsletter – Making plans to call a committee meeting to get this started again.

Other Business – East Shore – Anne Garris reminds us that we must keep ourselves informed of any proposals to vacate this street. Jay read the article he wrote for the Gazette. Unfortunately it was not published in its entirety. Beach Fun Feast at McKay Park – Jerry received a letter from Chapel By The Sea; they are asking us to pay half of their expenses as we “partnered” with them on this event. The amount is approximately $600

Planning Department – Jerry brought up discussion of his recent emails regarding upcoming ordinance proposals. Jerry will go to the Planning Department to collect any information on upcoming proposals so we can act before we are forced to react. He will also work with Ron Delp on a letter listing our many concerns.

Meeting was adjourned

Respectfully,
Kim Porte
