Easter Egg Hunt - March 29 .. 6 PM at Mandalay Park on Clearwater Beach.
The CBA, Friends of CWB Recreation Center/Library and the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center are sponsoring the event.  About 300 Folks of all ages showed up, won a few prizes and left happy as a lark!

Spring Picnic/Clearwater neighborhood day.  Saturday April 13, 2013.
The annual Spring Picnic ill be held at Triangle Park on North Beach.  Meet your neighbors and members of the police, fire, EMS, and local government.  BBQ and drinks will be provided. Bring a dessert or side dish to share, plus a chair or blanket. Free to CBA members, others $5 per person.  You can become a member at the event!

Adopt-a-park volunteer day.  Saturday May 18.

Candidates forum:

Wednesday Jan 11, 7 - 8 PM at the Beach Recreation Center

City Council Update: Congratulations to Clearwater City Council Members-Elect Jay Polglaze and Doreen DiPolito. Both candidates run unopposed for council seats being vacated by council members George Cretekos and John Doran.

 Polglaze will take over council seat 3 which is currently held by Cretekos who is leaving that seat to run for mayor, seat 1. DiPolito will take over seat 2 currently held by Doran. Cretekos will face Christine Marketos-Cuomo in a city wide election to be held on, Tuesday January 31, 2012.

All four candidates attended the CBA hosted forum which had 60 plus attending citizens that listened, asked questions and applauded some of the answers.

Join us for an evening with your neighbors.  Dinner will be provided.  Please bring an appetizer or dessert to share.  This year we will be collecting donations for RCS Grace House.  We will be welcoming your items (i.e. toiletries, board games, cards, diapers, etc) and we will deliver to RCS

2011 Events

Neighborhood week Picnic at Triangle Park  Scheduled for April 30, 2011 ... 4-7 PM. 

The menu will include grilled vegetables, chicken tenders, hot dogs and pulled pork sandwiches. Some side dishes, condiments and soft drinks will also be provided. 

Volunteers will help distribute the flyers along with membership information throughout the neighborhood. Volunteers are also needed for setup and cleanup on the day of the picnic. 

Residents are encouraged to bring salads, desserts and side dishes to share. A membership table will be present to take new members. The picnic is free to members. Non-members will be charged $5.00 per person.

So come on out and enjoy some good food, music, games and an opportunity to meet your neighbors and some city officials

Easter Egg Hunt at Mandalay Park   took place on April 22, 2011, 6 - 7 PM at Mandalay Park on Clearwater Beach.  There were egg hunts for all ages ... starting at 3 years of age and even involving all adults.  Dan Crider did a great job in getting local businesses to make donations such that all left with ... candy, a free pass to the pool, a free pass to a skating rink or a dinner at one of the Beach's restaurants.

Christmas Caroling at Mandalay Park - December 22 at 7 PM

You are invited to join the Clearwater Beach Association and Chapel-by-the-Sea for their annual Community Christmas Caroling on Thursday evening, December 22, at Mandalay Park, next to the fire station. 

Bring a chair or blanket to sit on and join our friends and neighbors for Christmas Caroling, led by the charming Lindblom Family.  Caroling starts at 7 PM and refreshments will be served.

The CBA is hosting a forum and have invited all of the candidates to come speak and take questions on Wednesday January 11at the Beach Recreation Center. The forum will begin at 7 PM.


 

2010 Events

February 10 Candidates Forum:   The CBA sponsors a candidates forum for the 2010 Clearwater Council elections.  The forum takes place on February 10, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center ... located at 69 Bay Esplanade.

On Tuesday, March 9, 2010 Clearwater registered voters will elect members to the Clearwater City Council.  Seat 4 candidates are Wayne Carothers, Bill Jonson, Joe Paige and Herb Quintero.  Seat 5 candidates are Paul Gibson, current seat holder, and Mike Riordon.

Jay Keyes will moderate the event and pose questions relative to issues and concerns of Clearwater Beach neighborhoods and businesses.  Residents are encouraged to come on out and participate.  Questions will also be taken from the audience.

Had somewhere between 75-80 folks turn out ... almost as many as actually voted.

March 7 baseball game:  The Tampa Bay Rays take on the Phillies at 1:05 PM.  CBA members and friends will be watching the game in Suite 206 at Bright House Field.  Thanks to David Ramos and Jerry Murphy for making it happen ... and arranging transportation via the Jolley Trolley.

Two of four Navy Seals that dropped in to watch the old ball game.  The Rays took the Phillies 5 to 3 in ten innings.

March 27 Treasures Sale:  This will be a fund raiser lead by Pat Power with plenty of help from CBA members and "Friends...".  Neighbors are being asked to donate items for the sale.  The proceeds will go to the CBA and the Friends of the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center/Library.  The fund raiser will be held at the Triangle Park ... 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.  Every one is welcome to come out and get involved.

At last .. someone to buy stuff.  Very sucessful event, netted a little better than $1400 ... and donated a car load of books to "Friends ..." with the main library. and donated a bunch of stuff to a few thrift shops.

April 2 Easter Egg Hunt: The egg hunt will be held at Mandalay Park.  The egg hunt is a joint CBA and Beach Recreation Center activity.  While the focus is on the little folks, teenagers and adults will have a chance to participate and hunt for a few eggs.   The egg hunt is on April 2, 2010 ... starting at 6:00 PM

Very successful event ... about 200 folks of all ages turned out and most took home an egg .

Looks like more than one egg here ... oh, Mom helped!

April 17 Neighborhood Picnic:  The neighborhood picnic will be held at Triangle Park ... 3:00 - 6:00 PM.  CBA will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and beverages.  Contributions of salads, deserts, etc are welcome and appreciated.  This picnic is for the neighborhood ... and all are invited.

Good turnout from the neighborhood and city ... a few firefighters with equipment, Mayor Hibbard and several staff members from the city, and the police department's Lt. Young.  About 106 folks from the neighborhood shared hot dogs and discussions ... Pat forgot the beer.

October 22, 23, 24 Family Fun Fest fund raiser: not going to happen this year ... consideration postponed to 2011.

Tampa Bay Harvest, CBA, and the City of Clearwater are working together to put on the second annual Family Fun Fest fund raiser ... that's a mouth full.  The three day event will feature: arts, crafts, entertainment, food and beverages with a focus on the family.

Fall picnic ...Took place on October 24, 2010 at the Beach Recreation Center Pool.  It was also the send off for Allan and Merry .. they are leaving paradise and heading for the far Northwest corner of the USA.

December Annual Member Meeting and election of board members:
Will take place at the Beach Recreation Center on December 4, 2010 starting at 4:30 PM.  Please bring a side dish to share.  Refreshments provided by the CBA.

December Christmas caroling:

OK, the best minds have figured it out ... The Christmas Caroling will take place on December 16, 2010 at 7 PM.  The event will take place at Mandalay Park next to the Beach Fire Station ... come on out and get a little involved!

2007 Golf Tournament 

2nd annual golf outing at East Lake Country Club ... sponsored by the CBA and the Clearwater Community Sailing Center.    The 2nd annual tournament was played on October 29, 2007 at Eastlake Woodlands Country Club. 

The Tournament was supported by 88 players, 20 plus volunteers and 63 sponsors... with Jay Keyes and Joe Calio providing the leadership.  It was another very successful tournament ...

                                         CBA's share of the proceeds will be use to support Tampa Bay Harvest and their effort in gathering and moving food to RCS for its distribution to those in need.
