First quarter ...
Social Outing.
OOPS ... but check out the
Threshers game taking place in April.
March 15 ... Neighborhoods Day Picnic
took place at Triangle Park on March 15,
2008 ... The picnic started around
4:00 PM and went to about 7:00 PM. About 160 residents and visitors attended.
There were hot dogs, hamburgers, sodas, salads, and refreshments.
It was a great opportunity to meet and talk with some of our neighbors. Check out the city's
web site for scheduled activities
The Neighborhood Yard Sale was
part of the day ... 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM. We put a lot of focus
this year on kids and military families .. and hosted a couple of
families from the mainland.
The family on the right is the Betsy Wood family ... and the family
of the left is the Sonja Hill Family. The CBA was very honored
to host these two families. Pat Murphy is making sure that
Sonja Hill and her two daughters are not going hungry.

March 21 ... Easter Egg Hunt at Mandalay Park.
took place on the
first day of spring ...March 21, 2008 at Mandalay Park next to the
Fire Station. The event began at 6:00 PM. About 200
children
along with their parents, and in some cases,
grand parents turned out and joined in the egg hunt. There
were 4000 eggs scooped up by the little guys ... in come cases the
parents participated ... every one walked away with some eggs,
surprises, and in some cases .. a gift certificate or two.
The
CBA partnered with the Beach Recreation Center to make the
event
happen.
The Beach
Recreation Center folks did a great job in planning and carrying out
the Egg Hunt.

November 1, 2008 ... Fall Picnic To take
place at the Triangle park ...
2:00 PM - 6:00 PM.
Notices and invitations being prepared and will be
delivered mid October.
The Picnic went off as scheduled ... the focus this year was on the
members ...
about 70 folks attended. Triangle Park with its new irrigation
system and
land scape, all funded by the CBA, looks pretty good. Picked
up a few new
members.

October ... Golf Tournament. There
will be no golf tournament for 2008. The
CBA looks to continuing the tournament in 2009.
December 6 ... Annual meeting.

December ... Holiday Parade
The Parade cancelled by
the City ... budget
issues.
December 12, 2998... Christmas Caroling.
Christmas caroling will again be
held at Mandalay Park next to the Beach Fire Station.
Times are 7:00 - 8:00 PM

... an evening of good food, good people, and pleasant conversation
... the event was focused on the grown ups.

cooperation with the City of Clearwater
Parks and Recreation Department.

group figures about 400 people at the Easter Egg Hunt.
April 14, 2007
City of Clearwater Neighborhood day and
Garage sales. The garage sale is from 8:00 am - 1:00 am on
your property ... permits not needed. The CBA will hold a little
party in the afternoon at Triangle Park ... 4:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
Clearwater Beach residents invited. Results were good!
 


About 200 people showed up ...
including Fire and Rescue folks and Solid Waste personnel with
equipment ...
June 12, 2007
Threshers
Neighborhood night at Brighthouse Field. Food,
refreshments, and a cool suite ... Dwight Curtis has established the
date ... June 12, 2007. Everyone, members and
potential members are invited to attend. Will be a slight fee
of $17 per person. The Jolley Trolley
will be available at the Beach Recreation Center at 5:30 pm for the
first 32 folks that show up wanting a ride ... will return after the
old ball game is played. The 40
plus folks that showed up all had a good evening and pleasant
conversations.

Fall Picnic at Triangle Park ... 2:00
pm- 6:00 pm. Lisa planned and coordinated the event ...
140-170 folks wondered in and out and all seemed to enjoy the
food and event.
Plenty of food and conversations about happenings in Clearwater.

Fire and Rescue were there with their
equipment ... great for the kids, and parents.

Also several of our elected officials made a
point to stop by and enjoy a hot dog.

2nd
annual
golf outing at East Lake Country Club ... sponsored by the CBA
and the Clearwater Community Sailing Center. The 2nd annual tournament
was played on October 29, 2007 at Eastlake Woodlands Country Club.
The Tournament was supported by 88 players,
20 plus volunteers and 63 sponsors... with Jay Keyes and Joe Calio
providing the leadership. It was another very
successful tournament ...

The Christmas Party and annual meeting.
At the Beach Recreation Center, 6:00 pm- 9:00 pm. Sixty two
folks showed up and : 1. elected 6 board of director
members, 2. played some bingo and won a few prizes,

3. enjoyed some excellent food prepared by the members
and especially the food prepared by David Ramos and his family,

4. enjoyed a little wine ...and left a little happier!
December 19, 2007
Christmas caroling
.. About 65 children and adults came out and participated in
the singing and listening. The event was organized and lead by CBA members....
With the Lindblom family leading the caroling. The
caroling happened ...
7:00PM on Wednesday December 19, at Mandalay Park
next to the fire station. Folks showed up with portable chairs or
blankets for seating and join their neighbors and visitors... to
celebrate together in an old fashion way. And there was even
hot chocolate and cookies. |
